In Tennessee, Acellus Academy is recognized as a “Category III Non-Public Online School.” If parents do not wish to independently home school or enroll their child in an umbrella, but would still like to manage their child’s education from home, they may consider enrolling into an accredited online school, such as Acellus Academy. Accredited online schools are considered private schools, not home schools.

How to Get Started at Acellus Academy
Step 1. Create A Parent Account
Your parent account is where you will manage / monitor your child’s schooling and process tuition payments. Monthly or annual tuition payment plans are available.

Step 2. Select Courses
You may select the courses that your student will be enrolled in. Core courses are recommended based on a student’s grade level. Parents may select electives from our extensive course catalog. Courses may be adjusted after enrollment as well.
Step 3. Start Learning!
Students are enrolled immediately and assigned a log-in. Our student orientation will help you know how to get started. Parents may use Acellus Academy as their student’s primary school or take individual courses while enrolled at another school.

Does your school enroll students in Tennessee?
Yes! Parents in Tennessee are welcome to enroll their students. Acellus Academy serves families throughout the state of TN.
Are your students required to participate in state testing (TCAP)?
Acellus Academy students who reside in Tennessee are not required to participate in the TCAP assessments taken by students in TN public schools. Acellus Academy administers standardized testing and the results are communicated to parents annually.
Do parents in TN need to submit an Intent to Homeschool Form?
Since Acellus Academy is an accredited Category III Non-Public Online School, parents in Tennessee are not required to file an Intent to Homeschool Form with their local school district.
Is Acellus Academy accredited in Tennessee?
Acellus Academy is accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC), a regional accrediting agency approved by the Tennessee State Board of Education.
How soon can my student begin?
Acellus Academy accepts enrollment year-round. Once a student has been enrolled, they can begin immediately. There is no waiting period. You’ll receive the student’s login information as soon as you complete the enrollment process.

How much does this school cost?

Tuition covers the registration and instructional expenses to enroll a student in Acellus Academy. Parents who are approved under the Arizona ESA Program may cover 100% of the tuition expenses using ESA funds.
What are the expectations of the parent?
As the primary facilitators of their child’s learning experience, parents play a crucial role in an Acellus Academy student’s success. Their responsibilities encompass a range of tasks that include:
Supervision
Parents are responsible for overseeing the student’s learning experience. This involves ensuring the student attends regularly and completes weekly progress goals in each course. The parent is also responsible for providing an optimal study environment conducive to learning.
Tracking Progress
Through our easy-to-use Acellus platform, parents should sign in at least daily to monitor their child’s academic progress and scores. This ensures that they can identify areas of improvement and help the student stay on track.
Interface with Acellus Academy
Parents should communicate with Acellus Academy to address any questions or concerns that may arise during the course of their child’s study. A dedicated team is available to support parents.
Follow Local Home Education Laws
The parent is responsible for following any regional home education regulations that apply to them. Learn more about Arizona’s Homeschool Requirements.
What if my student transfers to another school?
Transcripts may be requested through the system to provide a record of the courses completed by a student. The transcript will include the grade for each class and any credits awarded. No credit will be given for a partially completed course.
Parents may request an electronic copy of a transcript at no cost. Certified transcripts delivered via mail may be requested for a nominal fee. For more information, please see the following tutorial on requesting a transcript.
What grades are offered?
Acellus Academy is available to students in grades K-12. Students who complete the high school graduation requirements are eligible to receive a diploma.

Will my student receive a high school diploma from Acellus Academy?
Yes, students who complete the graduation requirements will receive a high school diploma from Acellus Academy. Acellus Academy offers two high school diploma paths:
● The Standard Pathway is recommended for students who plan to attend a community college or directly enter the workforce after high school. ● The Honors Pathway is a more rigorous program of study that is recommended for students who plan to apply to competitive four-year colleges with more stringent admissions requirements.
